Most materials in the MTU library are arranged by subject matter according to the Library of Congress Classification System (LCCS.) For information on gambling try the following call number area(s): HV6710-6720

 

 

Government Documents First, Third floors & offsite access

Information about gambling laws and regulations can be found in government documents. During construction the MTU Librarys GovDoc collection is located on the first floor for core documents, third floor for documents on microfiche and offsite for the print documents. To request an offsite document complete an Off Site Storage Retrieval Request available at the Reference Desk or online under Library Service: Borrower Services (http://www.lib.mtu.edu/services/borrower/offsiteinit.aspx)

MTU Online Catalog contains records of materials owned by the MTU Library.

Two search interfaces, Basic and Keyword allow the user to search for items by author, title, subject, call number, ISBN/ISSN, or keyword(s.) Catalog records include bibliographic and location information for items retrieved in your search. Use the Location, Status, Call Number information to find an item in the Library Collections.

 

E-Resources access to electronic indexes/abstracts, online books, e-journals and selected websites.

From the E-Resource menu select listings by alphabet, topic or collection (e.g. FirstSearch or InfoTrac.) E-Resources are also searchable by name or keyword(s.) Use the index databases to locate journal articles, newspaper articles, or reviews on your topic. Some indexes or collections of indexes especially useful for research in this course include:

WilsonSelectPlus Full text articles from over 1400 periodicals covering research in the Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, Education and General Sciences.

         LexisNexis Academic Wide range of business, legal, current affairs information. Extensive U.S. newspaper coverage. Updated daily.

         ABI/Inform - Covers business and management topics including information on companies and industries.

www.firstgov.gov - FirstGov Portal to federal and state government information. All sites linked by FirstGov are evaluated for accuracy and authority.
