To find citations to recent articles from journals, conference proceedings, and other publications, go to the Librarys web page at http://www.lib.mtu.edu and select E-Resources & E-Alerts.

Expanded Academic ASAP - Scholarly and popular research on a variety of academic subjects. Includes full text.
FirstSearch
WorldCat International catalog of books, periodicals, papers, websites.
ArticleFirst Indexes over 12,000 journals. The drawback is that almost no articles are full-text.
Periodical Abstracts A general reference resource which indexes & abstracts popular and academic periodicals. Also includes transcripts of some news oriented television & radio shows.
Readers Guide Abstracts Indexes popular magazines, including Foreign Affairs & Current History.
SIRSResearcher Worldwide issues in social sciences, science, politics and economics.
Social Sciences Abstracts Covers periodicals in anthropology, economics, geography, law and criminology, political science, social work, sociology, and international relations.
Wilson Select Plus Fewer journals than ArticleFirst, but almost all articles are full text. Also, each entry has subject headings that improve searching strategies.
CQ Researcher (formerly Editorial Research Reports) (1959-1990) - H 35 .E2 REF
In-depth analysis of issues in the news. Includes overview and background on the topic; an assessment of the current situation; pro/con statements from representatives of opposing positions; tables; and bibliographies. CQ Researcher (1991-) In paper, 1991-2006.
Contains scanned images of over 200 scholarly journals in a variety of academic disciplines. Includes journals in History and Religion.
NetLibrary: Full-text versions of books from Librarys web page. Requires users to have a MTU IP address, an ISO password or to have established an individual user account.

Portal to federal and state government information. All sites linked are evaluated for accuracy and authority.
Requests are made through ILLiad, the personalized online ILL account system. After your initial registration is complete, use ILLiad to request books and articles. ILLiad also allows you to track the status of your requests and cancel requests.

directly through some database providers such as FirstSearch and Thomson Gale. Follow the HuskyFetch menu options and select "Get Item from
another Library via ILLiad." Please be
sure to check the JRVP Library holdings before submitting a request directly
from a database.
