Laptops for Check-out
Please check Laptops Loan and Use
Policy before using this service. Laptops Usage Guide is as
follow:
-
The laptop battery will provide power for approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours. Power
cord and brick are included with the laptop bag. Floor outlets are located
through out the library.
-
Wireless access is available via RoverNet. An ISO password is required. Please
contact the Circulation or Reference Desks for a guest account if you do not
have an ISO password.
-
Wireless signal reception strengths can vary through out the building.
Reception in the study rooms tends to be moderate to low. Generally, the open
areas (away from the book stacks) of the library provide the best reception.
Poor web browser performance is usually an indication of low signal strength.
-
The laptops have OpenOffice 1.1.4 installed. Included are word processing,
spreadsheet, HTML and presentation applications. Users should be aware that
library staff might not be familiar with these products and therefore unable to
provide assistance with their use.
-
Printing from the laptops is not currently available. Users may down load to a
floppy disk (disk drive is included with laptop bag) or they may send
attachments to their email accounts.
-
Any problems with the operation of the laptops should be immediately brought to
the attention of the Circulation Staff.
