Campus Document Delivery Service
Need an article or book and don't have time to come to the Library? Try the Campus Document Delivery Service.
Available to all MTU faculty, staff and graduate students, Campus Document Delivery allows users to request materials owned by the J.R. Van Pelt/Opie Library using their ILLiad accounts for delivery to their department office.
Campus Document Delivery consists of:

On-campus delivery of JRVP Library materials from the following collections:

Main Collection (3rd floor)
-
Government Documents
-
Popular and Paperbacks
-
New Books
-
Electronic delivery of articles and papers from journals and proceedings in the
JRVP Library (not otherwise electronically available.)
Need to know for loans:

The service is free of charge.

Requests are made using your ILLiad
account. From the ILLiad main menu, under New Request click on "book."

A campus mail address is required for delivery of loan items.

Library accounts must be in good standing (i.e. not blocked)

Items will be delivered to department (not individual) offices.

Delivery time for loans is 24-48 hours.

Patrons are responsible for library materials from the time it is checked-out
(charged) until it is checked-in (discharged) at the library. This
includes the "in transit" period.

Renewals may be made by logging into your
library account or by emailing a renewal request to
circlib@mtu.edu.

Materials may be returned in person, in a campus book drop or via campus mail if
protective packaging is used.
Need to know for Electronic Delivery:

The service is free of charge.

Requests are made using your ILLiad
account. From the ILLiad main menu, under New Request click on
"photocopy."

Electronic delivery is generally less than 24 hours during the work week.

Electronic delivery of material that is in poor condition may not be possible.
- In order to serve all patrons, ILL/DD staff will process a maximum of 5 requests or 50 pages per day per patron. If time allows additional requests will be processed.
