Reference Services is located on the second floor of the JRVP Library. The reference collections contain fact-finding tools such as almanacs, atlases, biographical and language dictionaries, directories, encyclopedias, handbooks, and statistical compilations. Other reference sources serve as guides and indexes to large bodies of literature or data. These include indexing and abstracting services, guides to government documents, union lists, catalogs of specialized library collections, and national, trade and subject bibliographies. The reference collections are accessible whenever the library is open. While reference materials do not circulate, many resources are available in E-Resources.

MTU Reference Librarians are available for assistance in:

  • locating facts, statistics, and information on a topic
  • searching library catalogs, indexes, databases and the Web
  • planning a library research strategy for research papers
  • learning how to use the library and its resources
  • referring people to information sources beyond the library
