Scope and Content Note:
The June Ross Marriage Indexes of Cornwall contain 43 reels of microfilm
produced by the Mormon Genealogical Library in Salt Lake City. The film,
donated by June and Richard Ross, reproduces a set of more than 250,000 3x5
inch cards compiled by the Rosses in the 1970?s. These cards document marriage
records from Cornwall, England, for the years 1530-1925, many of which are not
included in Boyd?s Marriage Index. In addition to these indexes, a third record
series contains information about additional marriages not yet indexed by the
Rosses. The collection provides valuable genealogical information concerning
Cornish American families that have resided in Michigan?s Copper Country.
The Ross Index provides reference to records on deposit at other institutions.
Most original records can be accessed through the Mormon Library in Salt Lake
City, Utah, or one of its regional Family History Centers. Transcripts used by
the Rosses in compiling the Index are on file with the Southern California
Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 4377, Burbank, CA 91503.
