It also aims to improve awareness at national and international level, in particular among small and medium-sized enterprises, of the kind of information that is accessible to the public.

German Patent Information System: DEPATISnet - DEPATISnet is a free service of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (GPTO) allowing researchers to conduct online searches in patent publications from around the world stored in the GPTO's in-house patent information system. Retrieved documents are searchable and may be displayed in PDF format and printed.

Google Patent Search - Covers the entire collection of over seven million patents made available by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), back to the 1790s. Patent applications, international patents, or U.S. patents issued over the last few months are not included. Patent Databases on the Internet (Stanford University Libraries) - A good starting point and reference for patents and trademarks. Not all links work all the time.

Patent Information Users Group (PIUG) - The Patent Information Users Group, Inc. (PIUG), the International Society for Patent Information is a not-for-profit organization for individuals having a professional, scientific or technical interest in patent information.
