Geolex: Geologic Names Lexicon - USGS search tool for searching lithologic and geochronologic unit names. Unit names from the USGS Geologic Names Committee (GNC) card catalog and the CD-ROM, "Stratigraphic Nomenclature Databases for the United States, its Possessions and Territories," DDS-6, 1996, USGS, are in process of being entered.

GeoNames - A geographical database containing over eight million geographical names and consisting of 6.5 million unique features categorized into feature classes. The database may be searched by location name or postal code, or browsed by largest cities, highest mountains, capitals or Wikipedia entries to retrieve a map of the desired location. Users may manually edit, correct and add new names using a user friendly wiki interface.

Global Xplorer - A source for purchasing online aerial/satellite imagery and maps. Includes ImageConnect, a mapping application extension that can instantly retrieve satellite and aerial photos into a user's web application, desktop, or mobile device.

NAPL Online (National Air Photo Library, Mapping Services Branch, Natural Resources Canada) - Allows the search and retrieval of metadata for over 6 million aerial photographs covering all areas of Canada. After registering for NAPL On-Line, clients may search for photos using several criteria, including official place name, geographical coordinates, National Topographic System map number, or Roll and Photo number. Air photos can be ordered from the National Air Photo Library.
