E-Journals A-Z List Browser Toolbar Installation Guide

SFX offers library users an A-Z list Browser Toolbar as an add-on for Internet Explorer. This add-on allows users to quickly search for electronic journals held at the J.R. Van Pelt / Opie library from the browser toolbar. Currently this add-on is available for Internet Explorer, versions 5.5, 6, and 7. This add-on will also be available for Firefox in the near future.

To install the A-Z toolbar, please click here.  The screenshots for the installation/uninstallation/update processes are included below.

1. Click the link and the following dialog box is displayed:

   

2. Click Run to run the file or Save to save the file and double click it later at the saved location. The following dialog box is displayed:

   

3. When the following dialog box is displayed, click Run.

   

4. Click Install to start the installation process.

   

   

5. Restart the browser when the following message appears:

6. Removing the A-Z Browser Toolbar

   To uninstall the toobar, click the SFX logo and select Uninstall. The browser needs to be restarted to complete the toolbar uninstall process.

7. Toolbar Automatic Updates

   The A-Z List Browser Toolbar contains an automatic update mechanism to make sure that when updates to the A-Z List Toolbar are released, toolbar users are alerted that updates are available and are able to install them. The end user can also initiate a check for updates by using the following option directly from the browser toolbar.
