Policy on Posting Material in the Library

All materials to be posted must be submitted to the Library Director in Room
202 for approval and posting. Approved materials will be dated at time of
posting.

Materials which violate University policies, state law or federal law will not
be approved.

Materials which are obscene or communicate a threat, defined as a serious
expression of intent to commit an act of unlawful violence to a particular
individual, group or property will not be approved.

Materials which are discriminatory in regard to race, religion, color, national
origin, age, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, height, weight,
marital status, disabled veteran status, veteran status, arrest record, or
disability in a way that violates or causes the University to violate state or
federal law or University policy will not be approved.

Announcements of commercial business will not be approved.

All promotional materials must clearly identify the date of the activity and
the sponsor of the activity, e.g. Event sponsored by Educational Opportunity or
Michigan Tech Huskies Club.

Only one approved copy of a posting is permitted.

Posted materials cannot exceed 12" x 18".

Promotional materials can be submitted up to two weeks prior to the event and
will be removed the day after the event.

If materials are posted in violation of this policy, the posting will be
removed and the person(s) responsible will be charged with a violation of
University policy.
